The natural beauty and open spaces of the Laurel Highlands sometimes obscures the fact that this tri-state region is packed full of a wide variety of things to do and see. From Fallingwater, Frank Lloyd-Wright’s iconic house over the waterfall, to Historic Fort Necessity where the French and Indian War began in 1754, the culture and history within Western PA and the surrounding region will surprise.

Ohiopyle State Park has some of the best whitewater rafting on this side of the country, and a nationally renowned bike trail, the Great Allegheny Passage, which runs from Pittsburgh Point Park all the way to Washington, DC. There are miles of mountain bike, snowmobile and hiking trails that take visitors through some of the prettiest scenery in the state.

Hartzell House Bed & Breakfast sits in between the Wisp Ski Resort in Deep Creek Lake, MD, and Seven Springs Resort, in Champion, PA, and is surrounded by miles of XC ski trails.
